The dwarf galaxy in the inspirational image behind the artwork, from the constellation Pictor, is small, irregularly shaped, and has recently undergone a spate of star formation known as a star-burst. It contains few elements other than hydrogen and helium and is thought to be similar to the earliest galaxies.
